The four largest metro areas in Latin America (Mexico City, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Rio de Janeiro) have a combined population of over 58 million people. These population densities offer sponsors great advantages for patient recruitment and trial logistics, where Pharm-Olam has local offices and staff. Many of these patients are treatment naïve, who are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Latin America also offers unique opportunities for seasonal disorders such as allergies, because while it is winter in the US and Europe, it is summer in Latin America. It also has a higher prevalence of diabetes than any other region in the world.
